Matt Hart

Matt Hart is a passionate Bowen Therapist, committed to sharing the art and science of Bowen Therapy with new generations of practitioners.

His personal connection to Bowen began more than 20 years ago when he witnessed his wife and toddler find relief through Bowen Therapy, and later experienced firsthand how Bowen supported his own well-being during a period of significant back discomfort.

With a Diploma of Specialised Bowen Therapy and a holistic background that includes mindset coaching and disability support, Matt brings a grounded and empathetic approach to teaching. His interest in formal training was sparked while working in clinic management with Chris Reed, an experienced Bowen practitioner and longstanding trainer with BTA.

During his training, Matt was drawn to the gentleness of Mr. Bowen’s low-impact techniques — approaches that not only respect the client’s body but also support the longevity of practitioners. He values how Bowen work invites the body to respond at its own pace, and how the pauses between moves can create space for change.

Beyond private practice, Matt serves as the concussion officer, Bowen Therapist, and game day trainer for the Portarlington Football Netball Club, combining his knowledge of injury management with holistic care.

Matt is a current committee member of the Bowen Association of Australia and hosts a popular webinar series for members. He also is a co-founder of the Business of Bowen membership program and together with Chris Reed, they support new and experienced Bowen Therapists to build enjoyable and sustainable Bowen Businesses.

As a Bowen trainer, Matt is dedicated to nurturing students’ confidence and skills, helping them connect deeply with Mr. Bowen’s principles and expand the therapy’s reach. For him, Bowen is more than a technique—it’s about creating time, nurturing the body, and supporting healing long after the session ends.
